Dudley SMS Opt-In

Program: Dudley by Cabildo Companies · Effective June 30, 2026

Dudley is a conversational SMS concierge operated by Cabildo Companies LLC. Users may opt in through supported Cabildo products, including Dudley and its Travel, People, Books, and DudVault rooms; Portage; Cour; and Routabout. Users text Dudley questions about their own saved content — household archives, memories, places, and travel plans — and Dudley replies. Traffic is user-initiated and conversational.

This page documents exactly how end users opt in to Dudley SMS, including a demonstration of the in-app opt-in screen, which normally appears behind an account login.

Path 1 — Consumer-initiated (user texts first)

The user saves Dudley's contact card from inside the app and sends the first message themselves. Sending that first message constitutes opt-in. Dudley's first reply always identifies the program and includes opt-out and help instructions:

Hi, it's Dudley — your Cabildo concierge. You're all set. Text me anytime about your people, places, and memories. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Path 2 — In-app request (web form behind login)

Inside a signed-in Cabildo account screen, the user enters their phone number and checks an unchecked consent box to request an SMS introduction from Dudley. Consent is recorded with a timestamp, the source URL, and the exact version of the consent language shown. Because this screen requires an account login, the demonstration below reproduces it exactly:

The consent checkbox is never pre-checked. The button is disabled until the box is checked.
